One of the great pleasures of life is planning a family holiday, especially when you can bring your pet along too!

Kent & Sussex Holiday Cottages has many delightful properties to rent in Kent and Sussex where dogs are very welcome including seaside cottages and character barns deep in the countryside.

Some of our popular pet friendly properties include:-

Barley Byre in Rolvenden which sleeps 4 is a stylishly converted cow byre which retains all of its original character including vaulted and beamed ceilings.  Set in the grounds of the owner’s house with its own private fenced garden and well-stocked fishing lake which guests can use, the property allows two dogs and the owner leaves blankets and biscuits for visiting dogs.

Strawberry Hole Barn is a stunning and spacious thatched barn in Rolvenden which sleeps 4 and is within walking distance of Christopher Lloyd’s famous garden – Great Dixter.  Set in the owner’s grounds where they have a traditional Oast house the property accepts one dog and has acres of gardens and woodland to walk in.

Located right on the beach front in Hythe, Watsons is a wonderful family home that sleeps 8 and allows 3 dogs.  This wonderful family home enjoys not only uninterrupted sea views but peace and quiet with the pedestrianised parade the only thing between you and the beach.  The property benefits from private parking behind the house.

Buttermilk Cottage which sleeps 4 is a cosy comfortable cottage in the heart of the conservation area of Sandwich. It retains many original features and has a courtyard garden where you and your dog can enjoy some great walks beside the river or seaside.  It has a small outhouse for drying off or cleaning your dog after muddy walks.

Anchor Barn in the historic village of Eastry was built circa 1750 and sleeps 5. Only 2.5 miles from the medieval town of Sandwich this charming barn conversion has wonderful original features including a spiral staircase.  There is a large enclosed garden and lovely countryside walks on the doorstep, or you can head to Sandwich Bay beach just 10 mins away by car.  (Not suitable for young children or those with mobility problems).

The White House in Deal sleeps 8.  This lovely family house right on the seafront has a beautiful verandah and small garden looking out to sea.  Great for beach-combing and soaking up the sea views!  There are fabulous sea views from all the rooms - and wall to wall patio doors to the veranda to let the outside in, which creates a wonderful open plan living experience.   A short walk along the seafront takes you to the heart of Deal - with a myriad of pubs, restaurants and shops - not to mention the two castles, museums and the quarter mile long pier.

Micawber Cottage in the centre of Broadstairs sleeps 5 and includes some lovely features - such as its roll top bath and wood-burning stove.   Broadstairs is the perfect location for soaking up the Dickensian atmosphere and taking your dog for walks along the sandy beach named Viking Bay which is only a stone’s throw from the cottage which also has a sunny courtyard garden.  Broadstairs is also famous for its Blue Flag beaches, cliff top walks to Ramsgate and Margate, beachside cafes, cosmopolitan restaurants, quaint squares of fishermen's cottages and Bleak House (once the summer home of Charles Dickens). 

Cavalry Farm Cottage, Stowting Common near Canterbury sleeps 4.  Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the edge of the North Downs this is glorious countryside offering endless beautiful walks and country pubs, yet only 12 minutes to the city of Canterbury.  A delightful converted stable providing a perfect country escape and sits in the grounds of the owners’ ancient farmhouse with a working stable yard adjacent.   Round every corner are breath-taking views across the North Downs and Lyminge Forest where you can enjoy cycling, walking and horse riding nearby.

Randview, Beltinge, near Herne Bay sleeps 6 and allows 2 dogs.  The property is situated in a wonderful location at the end of a private road right on top of  gently sloping cliffs, directly on the Viking Coastal Trail. This fabulous property offers breath-taking views of the sea, across to the old Herne Bay pier and the remains of the Roman fort Reculver Towers.  The house offers every convenience and comfort and is a wonderful place to bring the whole family together. With a delightful garden that wraps around the property, large patio area with gas barbecue, a gorgeous conservatory with comfy sofas and a dual aspect wood-burning stove - this is the perfect place to unwind and soak up the views and seaside atmosphere.

Please be aware of the restrictions in the summer season for walking dogs on the beach.
